biennale is over!

Holiday Biennale 2007 is happily over, big thanks to all participants!

First week (14.-23.7.07) in tree house workshop we built four different tree houses and couple of bridges to the forest in Putikko using rope and other nature-friendly materials. It´s hard to say how many meters of sisal-rope was used during the workshop, at least all hardware stores around the area got ran out of it because of our Biennial! Tree houses can be found from Putikko beside the old road to Vyborg hopefully still for next couple of years. Feel free to visit & see pictures below!

Evening party in Putikko old mansion offered concerts from Paavoharju, Sami Kukka, Moppi and Nick Jaina. Cosy atmosphere, fire outside and tree houses dressed with candles and beauty. Sauna, of course like all the other evenings and late night reggae service by dj Planktom from the steps of the mansion.   

Second week (23.-28.7) was time for the Market square festival in city of Savonlinna. Fishing people with coins, free improvisation on the roof of the bus stop, appearances of the blueberry-man, meals in tee-pee, art exhibitionist with heaven under her jacket, family with flying carpet, free portrait drawing and wreath making, a stray deer from Canada and many other actions, interventions, happenings and appearances! Sun was shining and of course everyone was happy too.

Last day of the biennale (28.7) our monthly performance-club Nyrjähdys was held in old freight train terminal in Savonlinna for the first time out of Lahti. Ten performers guaranteed that the program was rich. Murska Murre, multiple world champion of watermelon-crashing got the biggest audience and best support with his powerful show. Blueberry man was sitting on a park bench, wearing a gas mask and feeding crowd of plastic ducks around him. French girls were singing and entertaining the audience with sand, beer, matches and cigarettes. Host of the mansion made people amazed and silent with the last performance of the event and lot of other things happened there too. Big fun! Back to Putikko.
